Every conference weekend, Matt and I take the girls to our family cabin at Flaming Gorge. It is usually the last snowmobiling trip of the year. This year, Matt's parents and his sister-in-law with her 3 youngest kids tagged along. We were going to have a blast!Friday night, the area received a heavy snowfall. We thought it would be a perfect day for snowmobiling with all the new snow, so we loaded the kids with all our snowgear into 2 trucks and headed up the mountain.

We turned off the main highway to park and begin our ride. Halfway up the road, Matt's dad got stuck. We decided to unload the snowmobiles at this point to make the load lighter with the hope that would help get his truck unstuck.
The kids quickly began climbing the hill and sliding back down in 2 feet of fresh snow. The adults began taking the snowmobiles up and down the road in an attempt to pack the snow, hoping it would help get the truck unstuck. My sister-in-law and I took the littlest kids to the start of the road (where we should have stopped and unloaded) to let them play in a safer area.

I stayed with the little kids while she went back up to help. A short time later, she came back down to get me. The truck was on the edge of the road! It was now an extremely serious situration!
We took all the kids back up and put them in our truck to eat lunch while the adults worked to keep the truck from sliding over the edge.
Just when we were getting desparate, along came Ranger Ben! He was an answer to all of our prayers. His presence calmed us and unified us. We worked diligently and we were finally able to get the truck unstuck and to get everyone and everything safely down the mountain.
On our ride home, we were FULL of gratitude for Ranger Ben and for our safety. The spirit confirmed to me that Heavenly Father knows us, loves us and is aware of us - at all times. He truly blessed us that day - and every day!

Glad you made it home safe.
Never realized you were such a snowmobile fan. April comes and I want to find some spring to participate in.
