This past week a dear friend lost his sister unexpectedly. The tragic death of this sister is compounded by the inheritance of her two children. They are beautiful children with the exuberance for life that only comes with childhood confused by this sudden turn of events.
This family has also struggled in the current economy. Now add two to four and there are six children. I don't know how they will manage. My heart aches for them.
What I do know is that they have tremendous faith in our Savior. They willingly opened their doors to these children and provided a safe haven for them. A home filled with love and faith. I have no doubt that they will embrace these children as if they were their own. They're just that kind of people.
I wish I had more answers. I don't understand why things like this happen. Why does "the plan" have to be so hard sometimes? And why are some people given more difficulties than others?
And why am I so weak?
I do know that we
CAN do difficult things. And until we are tested, we don't know our
true strength. And we gain
strength from trials. And with God,
nothing is impossible.
