The Love of My Life

Matt and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary yesterday. I know that doesn't sound like very long to those of you who have been married 20, 25, 30 and beyond years. And it doesn't really seem that long to me. The only evidence my mind really grasps that time is passing is the growth of our children. But I diverge.

Matt and I actually had a full 24 hours alone this weekend which was heavenly. I realized that I still TRULY enjoy my husband. Dinner was delightful (and warm, without children), Star Trek was incredible, and the car show at Thanksgiving Pointe was HUGE! We could talk about the things we wanted without constant interruptions from the children, eat where WE wanted (did I mention that dinner was warm?), walk slowly through the car show without listening to any whining.

I don't know what I did to be so blessed to have Matt. He is funny, hard-working, honest, a great father, spiritual, loving, my best friend. Each moring as I awaken, he is the reason I smile, the reason I love.

Congratulations. What a wonderful tribute to a happy couple. Matt is wonderful, but he also married a wonderful woman.

God bless you both for another decade or two.
