Inauguration Day

Well, here it is. The day millions have been awaiting. I wish I was more eloquent so I could truly express how I feel. That is not my gift so you are stuck with my ramblings.

Whether you love/hate Bush/Obama doesn't really matter. What matters is that, as citizens of the United States of America, we have the priviledge to vote. And when the majority says one guy beats another, that's it. It's a great system although elected officials are human and thus, subject to corruption. That aside, today is historic, as is every other inauguration day. But to have a black man taking the oath of the presidential office is especially historic. I'm glad to see it in my lifetime. It means we, as a people, are becoming color blind. That is refreshing!

And let me say this, I find myself hoping President Obama can turn this country around. I'm not talking about Irag or any other political statement that may be made. I'm talking about bringing hope to the country - hope for a better economy, hope for better education, hope for peace, hope for a better tomorrow, HOPE.

Good luck, President Obama. We are praying for you.
